What’s different about AI now? Why the sudden boom?

• Initial predictions for AI were slow to come to fruition, mostly because of how limited computer processing power was. Now, we have immense processing power in the palms of our hands.
• Originally, computer scientists had to collect data used to train machines. Now, massive amounts of data are available online in the blink of an eye.
• We’ve also seen a major paradigm shift in the way computer scientists train machines. Instead of coding each rule for an expert system, we now let computers discover the rules by correlation and classification. Learn more about machine learning training methods here or check out this video:
